Database Developer

Defense contractor, seeks candidates to serve as a Senior Database Developer who will sustain and provide future solutions and resolutions for the established Electronic Warfare Data System (EWDS with 5+ years of experience to work for a Department of Defense (DoD) program onsite at Point Mugu Naval Air Station in Camarillo, CA. Salary

The typical annual salary range for this position is $125,000.00 USD to $130,000.00 USD. Salary will be based on current qualifications, directly related experience, geographic location, and possible contractual requirements which could fall outside of this range.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate the experience in management systems, standards, requirements, guidelines and quality assurance for database deliverables, such as conceptual design and architecture, logical database, capacity planning, external data interface specification, data loading plan, data maintenance plan and security policy
Demonstrate an expert degree of experience in SQL, SQL Server, SQL programming and scripting is required
Monitor, analyze, configure, test, and report database conditions to ensure successful database development and maintenance associated with the following:
- Developing new databases, as required, and updating existing databases, heavy SQL use
- Responding to Analysts and user requests for assistance in database integration and development
- Work with clients to translate business requirements into a logical model that will accurately support and represent the client’s entity relationship and flow of data
- Develop the appropriate database framework to convert the logical model into a physical model including the creation and maintenance of schemas containing windows, screens, tables and columns and reports that support the model
- Making recommendations to maximize operating efficiency, support storage requirements and vendor software updates, enforce data governance, ensure recovery is maintained
Experience with database technologies including Postgres, SQL Server, Oracle or MySQL
Participate in quality assurance and develop test application code in client server environment

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of experience performing the duties described in the job description and responsibilities
Experience and/or service integration services with at least 4 years’ experience on a program that provides infrastructure services including compute, storage database, transport, enterprise management and/or desktop services
Experience with database technologies including Postgres, SQL Server, Oracle or MySQL
Excellent data evaluation skills and use of tools like MS Excel or Tableau
Ability to manage priorities across multiple projects and actively multi-task
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Desired Skills:

Prior experience working with or within the Intelligence Community or military intelligence
Experience as a Data Scientist, Data Engineer, Data Analyst or Quality Analyst
Experience with or understanding of various programming/scripting languages, such as Python, Java, SQL and/or PowerShell

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience; or a Master’s degree and three (3) years of experience; 5 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

Clearance:

Condition of employment – must have an active DoD Secret Clearance. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Must be eligible to receive a DoD Top Secret clearance.

Citizenship:

Must be a US citizen at time of application.
