About the role:

The Cybersecurity Operations Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of an organization’s digital assets and information. You will lead a team of cybersecurity professionals, develop and implement security policies and procedures, and collaborate with various departments to mitigate and respond to cyber threats. This role requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, strong leadership skills, and the ability to stay updated on the latest security trends and technologies.

 

The person in this position will provide oversight for the Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP), Managed Service Providers (MSP), and a team of security analysts and contractors, to provide real-time, continuous cybersecurity monitoring and triage; uninterrupted event detection; incident analysis, coordination, and response; situational awareness; and implementation of solutions and controls to maintain a secure cybersecurity and information assurance posture.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership

  • Manage a team with various skill sets to provide security operations across the Enterprise
  • Create and sustain a global, collaborative, team environment.
  • Work across teams and collaborate closely with peers to deliver security compliant solutions.

 

Security Strategy and Planning

  • Provide guidance on the latest security practices, tools, and technology.
  • Provide project management, direction, and leadership for security projects and initiatives.
  • Plan, implement, and test security systems based on identified security requirements.
  • Assess security risks and make recommendations to secure new applications and solutions.
  • Engage with senior IT staff to drive security decisions and implementation approaches.

 

Incident Response and Management

  • Function as the primary contact for escalations and issue resolution with the Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) and Managed Service Providers (MSPs) as well as internal operational resources on the Trinseo IT team.
  • Develop plans and procedures for security incidents, threat assessment and threat hunting.
  • Diagnose and resolve any issues to ensure availability of security infrastructure and services.
  • Assess security risks and make recommendations to secure new applications and solutions.
  • Provide direct support to the business and IT staff on security related incidents.

 

Security Operations Center (SOC) Management

  • Maintain 24x7x365 situational awareness of the cybersecurity posture and threat landscape.
  • Provide monthly security KPI scorecard for the Trinseo.
  • Coordinate and provide various service reports on cyber-threat intelligence situation.
  • Maintain and oversee Trinseo’s Vulnerability Management Program.
  • Support the architecture, design, and administration of Trinseo’s Security Infrastructure. Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of security policies and controls.
  • Review security reports and investigate suspected or actual security violations.
  • Support audits to ensure compliance with required standards, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Provide direct support to the business and IT staff on security related issues.
  • Advise functions on security policies and security issues regarding user built/managed systems.

 

Continuous Process Improvement

  • Evaluate security products and/or procedures to enhance productivity and effectiveness
  • Vendor Management to SLAs
  • Ensure Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) and Managed Service Providers (MSPs) meet all service level agreements, metrics, and deliverables.
  • Manage vendor relationships and maintenance/support contracts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent
  • 7-10 Years of experience in cybersecurity and or IT roles, with a focus on operations and management
  • Experience working in a global, public company, managing a dispersed team
  • Previous vendor management
  • Internal Audit/Controls background a plus
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity technologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to make informed decisions under pressure and in high-stakes situations.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the latest cybersecurity threats and trends
